Missing years

How do I submit missing certificates?
  1. Submit missing certificates for 2015/16 to 2022/23 on PCSE Online if possible.

  2. If you can’t submit online, download the forms from the NHS Pensions website and send them via the Contact Us form on the PCSE website.

  3. For certificates before 2015/16, use the appropriate amnesty forms from the NHS Pensions website and submit via the same Contact Us form.

  4. If you need to submit a 2023/24 Type 1 form, download it from the NHS Pensions website and submit it via the Contact Us form.
My Type 2 form for 2022/23 has not been approved, can I still submit for 2023/24?

Yes, you should submit your 2023/24 Type 2 form by 28 February deadline regardless of whether forms from any previous years are still being processed or not.

Can I submit an end of year form if I am still waiting for retrospective years to be reconciled?

You can submit your end of year form, and it will be processed. However, pension records can only be updated sequentially.

This means that, if any certificates from previous years are missing, contributions for the most recent years will not show on the NHS Pensions system.

For instance, if a certificate is missing for the year 2015/16 then the Annual Benefit Statement will only reflect the pension figures up until 2015, even if the certificates for more recent years have been submitted.

If you haven’t completed these forms in previous years, what should you do?

There is a Type 2 amnesty form on the NHS Pensions website for historic years. It is important to complete and submit forms annually to ensure your pension record is accurate.
