Patient Removals

About Patient Removals

Patient removals are an essential part of maintaining accurate GP practice lists and ensuring patient safety.

The patient removals process covers several scenarios, including immediate removals for violent or aggressive behaviour, eight-day removals following a breakdown in the patient–practice relationship, out-of-area deductions, and patient-requested removals.

Each removal type follows strict protocols to protect both patients and healthcare staff, with notifications and confirmations sent to practices and patients to keep records aligned with the national Spine (PDS).
